Nancy Joy (Scofield) Brown, 91, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Centre
Avenue Health & Rehab.

Born October 06, 1926 in Sandwich, IL, only child to Russell and Corinne (Nash) Scofield, Nancy was educated in the Newark
and Morris schools and was the first female lifeguard at the Morris Swimming Pool. She graduated from Morris High School with
the class of 1943. Nancy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Health from the University of Iowa
in 1947. At the University, she was a baton twirler for the Scottish Highlanders and a member of the Hawkeye synchronized swim
team. After college, Nancy began her teaching career at the high school in Galesburg, IL and in 1949, she returned to Morris to
teach physical education and coach girls’ sports at Center and Shabbona schools for the remainder of her 30 year career.

On June 25, 1949 Nancy married Robert E. Brown at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Robert in 1987.

Nancy is survived by her son, Judson E. Brown (partner Donna Mahler) of Fort Collins, CO; granddaughter, Corie (Jason)
Hoskins and great grandsons, Miles, Sawyer and Graem of Littleton, CO; granddaughter, Jenilee Chester and great grandsons,
Wesley, Julius, and Greyson of Laramie, WY.

Nancy was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morris and longtime volunteer at the Morris Community
Hospital and Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Jackson Street in
Morris with Rev. Dr. Roy Backus officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on
Sunday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson Street in Morris.

Memorials may be made to Morris Community Hospital, First Presbyterian Church, Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice or to
a charity of the donor’s choice.
