Carey A. Conley, 64, of Morris, passed away Monday evening, January 22, 2018 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak
Lawn, IL with her loving family by her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10;00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church
with Rev. Edward J. Howe, CR officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 pm
to 8:00 pm at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson in Morris.
Born June 25, 1953 in Fairfield, she was the daughter of James and Merida (Nance) Zumbahlen. She graduated from Morris
Community High School with the class of 1971. Later she attended Joliet Junior College. Carey married Jay Conley on January
10, 1973 at the Immaculate Conception Church. They lived all of their married life in Morris. She was a self-employed interior
designer and also employed at Comcast and the Morris Hospital.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jay; her children, Jennifer (Steve Becker) Chadwell of Indianapolis, IN, Mark (Sara)
Conley of Morris and Eric (fiancé, Kate Allen) Conley of Coal City; seven grandchildren, Ethan, Ava, Lyla and Ellis Conley, Anna
Huffman, Hannah Flint and Peyton Allen; one sister, Deborah (James) Keck of Joliet; four brothers, Jay (Cathy) Zumbahlen,
John Zumbahlen, Robert (Deborah) Zumbahlen of Channahon and David Zumbahlen of Morris; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Carey was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 1024.
She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed playing tennis, fishing and cooking. Carey was a devoted wife, mother and “Nana”
to her family.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
