Allen D. Bahr, 85, of Sugar Grove, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at his home with his family at his side. Born June 1, 1936 in Chicago, he was the son of Leo and Eunice (Strom) Bahr. He married Nancy Hagen on April 12, 1969 in Aurora. He was a veteran of the U S Marines and served in the Korean War. Allen was a retired carpenter out of Chicago Local #1. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sister-in-law, Carol (Wesley, deceased) Knutson of Moline, Il; one niece; three nephews; several great and great great nieces and nephews; thanks to Jeff and Kara Barr for their special care given to Allen. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, John (Sue) Bahr; one sister, Beverly Bahr; his in-laws, Ole and Alphina Hagen. Private memorial services will be held at a later date at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood with full military honors. The Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W.
